James Brownie

Apprentice builder to site manager to quantity surveyor/construction manager and now the proud owner and managing director of Brownie Construction registered master builders. James started out as a young chippy at the age of 16 years, left school and never looked back. With 12 years in the construction industry and a wide range of experience in residential and commercial construction.

James was very lucky to be part of large scale commercial projects such as Nelson Polytechnic 4 story T block, Saxton field hockey pavilions and many more projects. Whilst also having plenty of experience in residential construction, building architecturally designed homes and having the attention to detail to produce an award winning home.

He is a motivated business owner builder with a desire to build to the highest standards on time and on budget.

Joshua Lee

Having carried out his Carpentry Apprenticeship with a leading Construction Firm in Nelson, Josh has been in the industry for 12 years working in both Residential and Commercial. After completing 5 years of work in Nelson, Josh moved to Perth where he moved into a Site Supervisor role for a leading Tier 1 Commercial Construction Company. Here he worked along side Site and Project Managers learning the requirements and skills of completing and delivering $20 million dollar plus projects.

Moving back to Christchurch after 3 years, he did a quick stint with Brownie Homes before taking on a Site Manager role with a leading Commercial Construction Company in Christchurch. Here he added to his knowledge base in a lead role on a recently constructed $15 million school and was also part of one of Christchurch’s Anchor Rebuild Projects.

Having been back with Brownie Construction for one year now, Josh brings a vast knowledge of the Construction Industry including Health and Safety, Quality, Technical Details, Finance, liaising with clients and much more.

He also doesn’t shy away from putting the tool belt on and working with the team.
